Course Overview

This course provides the information required to configure Atmos resources including security, tenancy, and policy. The course provides significant hands-on and relevant practice exposing students to the Atmos GUI which is a key mechanism to monitoring and management.

Who should attend

This course is intended for anyone responsible for the configuration, setup, management, implementation,or support of EMC Atmos.

Prerequisites

To understand the content and successfully complete this course, a student should have knowledge and skills associated with the following:

  • Cloud computing concepts
  • Atmos fundamentals

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Describe use cases for Atmos
  • Explain how Atmos can be implemented as a cloud solution
  • Describe dataflow during standard read and write
  • Differentiate between data and metadata
  • Describe the Atmos security model
  • Describe the function of cloud tenancy and how it is implemented in Atmos
  • Describe the relationship between tenants and access protocols
  • Explain the role of policies
  • Explain the relationship of tenant and policies
  • Describe how parameters such as the number of replicas, erasure coding, de-dupe, and compression affect Atmos capacity and performance
  • Describe tools to monitor and configure EMC Atmos
