Course Overview

This 3 day class will introduce SEs to OpenStack and show them how SDN can be a part of a Cisco DC and campus environment.

Prerequisites

  • Understanding of DC technologies and architectures
  • Comfortable with Linux CLI
  • Good understanding of virtualization & hypervisors
  • Some experience with Linux networking

Course Objectives

  • Describe the architecture of an OpenStack Compute Cloud deployment
  • Define the key features of OpenStack Compute
  • Identify suitable use-cases for OpenStack Compute
  • Deploy an OpenStack Compute multi-server environment
  • Implement and use OpenStack services
  • Create and manage images and instances
  • Create and manage roles, users, and quotas
  • Understand critical components of fault tolerance and scale
  • Troubleshoot common issues in an OpenStack Compute environment
  • Find additional OpenStack help and support resources

Course Content

Agenda

The training is a three-day OpenStack Cloud Fundamentals class with a focus on integrating with Cisco UCS and Nexus.

Through lecture and hands on labs the student will become confident in discussing OpenStack and it’s capabilities especially as they apply to Cisco DC and Campus environments.
